Dead Speedo, Fuel and Temp Gauges - Revometer & lights are working

Fired the Beat up after the winter, and replacing a dead battery to find that the speedo, fuel and temp gauges are no longer working. The lights and revometer are working though. I have cleaned up the printed circuit on the back of the cluster and checked the screws and washers - everything seems to be very clean in there.

Next, I checked the contacts in the connectors going in to the back of the cluster which also seem very clean.

Any ideas what to check next?

Edit - when I turn the key to pos1/accessory the warning lights come on as expected, but stay on until I start the ignition. I'm sure they used to go off after a few seconds
