Hi All,

Just tried to use the BEAT - but it's withrawn it's services! Turn the key get a click and nothing else, after I release the key I get another click after about half a second. Battery is charged so I guess the starter solenoid is sticking???

But where is the starter/solenoid? How do I get at it? How easy is it to remove/replace?

As usual, all help appreciated

Happy 2004 to everyone.

Cheers, John.

Starter Motor location looking from below.

What makes you say the battery is charged??

I found with my beat even thou the battery had enough power to light all the ignition lights etc. If the battery had been left for a while the starter needed that extra bit of power to turn it over.

Hi Steve,

Many thanks for your prompt response, great pics. It looks as though the starter sits on top of the gearbox area, am I right in thinking this is going to be difficult to get at? Is the best approach from underneath? Do I need to remove anything else to get at it?

I say the battery is charged because I have just charged it (the immobilser does flatten the battery if I it doesn't get a run for a while).

John.
