Diagnostic check

I have recently had my Beat break down. The electrician thought it was the Crank Angle Sensor. Anyway, I carried out the diagnostic check and the engine check light gave no blinks (My take on this is 4 blinks = crank angle sensor) just a steady orange all the way. I must say when I turned on ignition with no jumper connector connected the engine check light does not stay on.
Intermittent sparks was the problem i'm led to believe.

Shedding of light on this issue will be greatly appreciated.
