air con

I'm trying to charge my air con system-does anyone know what gas the Beat uses?

Hi Matthew,

The beat should use R12 gas in the aircon,

Unfortunately, due to the damage it is meant to do to the ozone layer, it is hard (but not impossible) to get hold of...

My beat has been converted to run on R134 and I believe there is another alternative that can be used, A good automotive aircon place should be able to sort you out with what you need.

R24 is the alternative that doesnt need the conversion.
Ade how much did you pay for your conversion?

Does anyone know the weight of R24 and tolerance on the weight so I can let my friendly local air con guy know exactly how much to put into the system?

The workshop manual says 650g +0 -50 of gas.
