Cylinder sensor needed

My Beat failed its recent MOT on a couple of things, one being the engine management light being on. My mechanic has eliminated everything possible and concludes it’s the cylinder sensor at fault. He’ll order one from Honda but asked me to check here in case there’s a non specific alternative first. Any advice gratefully received. Cheers.

ECU capacitors are the usual cause for random faults like that. There is alot of information on here about checking/changing them
