Is the Beat an old man's car?

So it was a beautiful Sunday yesterday, so I went out and drove through the mountains to a classic car show. Pleasantly, it seemed that most of the Beat owners around the prefecture decided to go out for a cruise as well. I noticed though, that every one that I saw was happily piloted by a man in his 50s. Seriously, I might be a grown-ass adult, but everyone seemed to have about 20 years on me at least. (Also, they were all yellow, which was weird as well.)

No good news from me unfortunately, I'm 47 and have had my car approx 4 years now.
It's in the process of being sprayed a metallic red / burgundy.

I'm 31 and I know a few of the US Beat owners are in their twenties, so it might be that one generation is about to pass the torch to the next generation.

Yep.

I get the most "thumbs up" from older guys here in Okinawa. You have to remember that the Beat was a car they probably all wanted back in the '90's.

The young guys want cars they can take to a drift event and not get laughed at.

I'm 73 - is that old?

Ah, I already have one of those back home. Is this why I'm okay with having a stupidly impractical roadster to play with? And you're only as old as you feel, Steve.

I bought my two when I was 28,
30 now and thinking of down sizing to one. Seems to be a wide range of interest in my one from all ages

I bought mine in my late 20's and never let it go. I am currently working on getting it back on the road...i'm in my early 40's now. I think it is definitely staring to become 'an old mans car' in the UK, but I guess its all relative. My dad (who is a biker) complained that the classic bike show I took him to had far to many "modern" 80's models and not enough classics....he's 80 this year. He would argue that the Beat is a young mans car.
