Hi guys, getting the Beat all back together after engine rebuild and noticed clutch slave cylinder had seized. Now that its off the lever that controls the thrust bearing is able to be moved back and forth with no spring loading felt.
Is this normal?
Is the thrust bearing on this car always held against the pressure plate by the slave cylinder? Or is my spring in backwards?
Being a push type operation there is nothing holding the thrust bearing clear when your foot's off the clutch pedal.
Perhaps the slave cylinder was seizing progressively further and further out over time and ruined the spring tension?
