12- Tensioner 14510 - PFB? - 003
13- Tensioner Bolt 90026 - P36 - 003

Thanks to Steve for his advice regarding parts required.

I have a willing friend who will carry out the service for me, he's very good with engines thankfully.

Also if anyone has a working ashtray without broken corners I would be interested in buying it.

I am thinking about having the seats re-covered in leather also. Any recommendations in the Yorkshire area please?

Anyone?

Do I have to order parts from Japan or will Honda UK keep stock?

UK dealers can get parts but most probably there will be a waiting time depending on whether in stock in Europe or Japan
1-4 you can get cross referenced at Motor factors..sure theres a few threads on here? hit the search
Air filter not too sure, got mine from dealer about a week from memory?
the rest will be dealer only i guess, Dizzy cap/rotor was a month, water pump will probably be the longest, i was quoted 2-3 months but it did arrive in 6 weeks.
don't be fooled into thinking some of the parts on eBay are cheap, they're not, check dealer first

Hi All,

I have spent £330 on the parts listed and will begin my service asap!
My friend is contemplating dropping the engine out so he can have a good look at everything whilst it is out.

I am 6'4" tall and my knees clash a little with the standard steering wheel. I would appreciate advice regarding which steering wheel set ups people have adopted on their Beats, pictures would be most appreciated.

Kind regards
Dave

I wouldn't, you will cause yourself a lot of unnecessary expense and grief. E.g things not coming undone and adjustments needed etc.
All those items you listed are easily carried out with the engine in.

Hi all,
90% of the parts fitted and the engine started first time and sounds sweet as. My lamda sensor has sheared due to corrosion, how much are they and availability. Steve?
Awaiting a price for reupholstering seats in two tone leather, then its onto paintwork and fitting of new hood.
Stainless twin pipe exhaust recommendations anyone?
Then a lovely summer with my lovely Beat.

Original Oxygen sensors are still available - 36531-P36-003 and there is stock in Honda Europe, But at £339.94 inc VAT, I think I would be looking for an aftermarket one, e.g. NGK, matched up at a local motor factors. Its a 4 wire sensor, some thing like a Civic one should fit with a bit of wiring extension. (Beat O2 wiring is quite long compared to other Honda models)

Something like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oxygen-Lambda-Sensor-Honda-Accord-Civic-CR-V-HR-V-36531P2EA01-OZA444-E1-LB1367-/150950730291

or this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Accord-1-8-1-9-2-0-2-22-3-Civic-1-4-1-6-1-7-Lambda-O2-Oxygen-Sensor-New-/131090755631?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AHonda&hash=item1e859e302f

Check if a beat has male or female 4 pin plug and how long the original one is.

Wow!!!! Does someone pick the European sensor off a Honda stores shelf once a year to blow the dust off it?
Cheers for the advice once again Steve.

4 wire or single wire?

Got light on dash? Engine light or cat over heat light?

Hi Steve,
My engine light used to come on intermittently.

It looks like a single wire sensor. The wire is shrouded by a stainless steel shroud.

Cat overheat sensor.

Has no effect on engine running, just puts on dash light if cat overheat (dash light looks like a box with heat waves) (Was never fitted to any European spec vehicles, Japan spec only)

Read your engine codes will identify why.
