obviously where it can't be accidentally switched live whilst running but hell of a lot easier than removing engine panel for access?

I cant see any reason why you couldn't, you don't need one with a warning lamp as there is no current to sense.

Is your car that unreliable you need to check that often?

There is no problem with switching it while it's running, as this just puts ECU into ignition timing mode.

Classic! Whilst it would make life easy in the event of a fault, I dare say that the amount of time spent wiring up a switch would be more then the time saved jumping the plug the conventional way :rolleyes:

No , but whilst car is in pieces i have the opportunity to do it & with 2 long trips to Spain & France if i do need to access connector far easier than at moment.

switch will be going somewhere nr rear bulkhead, on Amp plate or in old Sub cabinet so only need to extend a few feet, no great hassle.

Fair point, and it makes sense doing it if the car is apart. Hell I'd hate to add up all the hours I've spent making small modifications!

connector cut off,wires soldered & heat shrinked,through to cabin near Sub cabinet, final resting place to be confirmed when everything goes back together.
