Need Help with streering wheel install

Hi, im having trouble undoing the centre steering nut that holds the wheel on, is there any special tricks to getting it off. I feel like im going to break the steering lock / steering rack when i try.

The way I removed mine was to turn the steering wheel to full lock. Using a long bar on the socket, gently ease the pressure on. It will go. Just dont try bouncing the wrench.

finally got it, used a hammer to lightly tap the nut with the socket and then put it to full lock slowly pressured it like Rod suggested, thanks for the help, i will post up a pic of it soon
