OK, my mechanic is in the process of changing the cam belt, and has discovered that the Distributor has been damaged and a hack repair has been attempted in the past. This explains why it was running badly at low revs!

Does anyone out there have an old one I can purchase before I'm forced to order one from Japan. :suicide:

Am happy to pay for international postage etc (To NZ)

Here's a photo of the damage done by some monkey about 18 months ago. (Have been reading the service history of the previous owner who took the Beat in for a no start)

I need new distributor, rotor arm and cap.

Looking at about NZ$800.00 from Honda (Imported from Japan)

It might be worthwhile waiting for one on Yahoo.jp. There is one on now http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b115779881 for 6300 yen (100 NZD). Seller pulled it from a 93K car and makes no claims for it working, but could be worth a throw. Maybe contact Jesse Streeter about it.

Also a NEW cap and rotor for abt 60 NZD http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n95652876

i think ive got our old one still - its not one of the dodgy ones and was only replaced as part of the ongoing renewal of everything :p
i'll go and check tonight and let you know.
