Hi everyone, I am looking for a way to make my Beat watertight, currently fitted with a soft top which is in a very poor state now :( Can anyone advise on where to source either a hew hood and associated mechanisms or a hard top. I understand the hard top could be very hard to find but I'd consider anything that will keep the snow and ice and sleet and water out of my little friend :help:

I think you will find that the details in this thread are still current.

Thanks for the link Steve I'll follow this up as I'm keen to understand what one gets for the money i.e. is it just the fabric or would a soft top installation include the metal mechanisms as well. Some of the metal-work on my Beat, especially where the soft top clips into the screen slots, is pretty rusty and would certainly need some restoration if not replacement.

Oxted just supply the roof. They've done a few on here now.
The replacement is made in the US and is (was ?) available in a few colours. Unlike the original vinyl, the replacement they offer is fabric. Don't think you'll get much change out of £500 though.

Thanks for the link, I wonder if they do the same thing for 1990 models.
