Advice please?

Just looking at my bores in the Beat, Head off after belt snapped. The bore by the box (is it 3?) has a piece of what I believe is the chrome coating missing ( 5mm x 5mm). I think it has worn through as there is a witness mark in the bore where the ring would come to and the missing bit is in the middle. You can just feel it with your nail. Should I worry or not?

There is no actual surface treatment on the inside of the bores (Chroming etc.).

I would see if a piece of wet and dry will remove/effect the mark.

Or better still get the bore honed or use a diy honing kit.

It is possible to get oversized pistons, but I would not hold your breath while waiting for parts if you do. If they are not already discontinued.
