Well,
Just had the police out to the car as it's been broken into tonight... (some birthday present...). :explode:
They managed to force the passenger side window outwards and then downwards (luckily without breaking it...) but have left a nice crease line on the windscreen pillar (not too deep but visible)
Grand total of theft... 1 x Tax disc that either runs out the end of May or June (can't remember which) unless I notice anything else in the morning
Thanks must go to my neighbour who called the police though even if they probably won't catch who did it.
To be honest (and I don't like admiting defeat), it's getting to the point where if much more happens to the car then it's being sold...!!
I'm going to start looking at pager alarms next, that way I'll know what's happening to the car most of the time (might be a bad thing that...)
The only good part is that we have a DVLA office here in Ipswich so getting a replacement disc shouldn't be that hard.

Very Sorry to hear that Adrian they are just scum
Im investing in a state of the art security system for mine that immobilizes four circuits and comes with a pager to tell me when my car needs me. Ill let you know how good it is when I get it up and running.
Another idea would be to get one of them steering wheels that you can clip off.

Hmmm Do they do them in Yellow & Blue????
I'm looking at the pager alarms at the moment, what one have you gone for so I can see what it offers??

:(
Sorry to hear bout that! I hope you run into them one day.
I am also getting one of these 2 way alarms but for now I have a chain on the steering wheel and a lovely flashing blue led.
P.S. The other side of my car was keyed last week and my patience is running out.
Ade
This is getting beyond a joke - in South Africa they have flame-throwers under the sills ... course you'd get arrested here if you did that!
I can't think what you can do - even with an alarm, they'll already have broken in by the time you hear it. Is your bedroom at the front? You could get a .22 air rifle and plink the bastards!

I feel for you Adrian, your damned if you do and damned if you don't. Anything more than passive protection and you'll end up in more trouble than the buggers doing it to you would.
Strange old society we live in.:(

Ade, i really feel for you.
I'd be out there hiding in bushes by now with a samuri sword!!
Maybe you should get a 'toad eye' security system. They take a picture of the intruder without them knowing!

Ta for all that Guys,
To be honest, if I didn't enjoy the car so much then it would probably be up for sale by now but since I do then I'm going to persevere with things and carry on having fun with it...
The grand total that they got was:
1 * Tax Disc which expires end June (£7 for replacement)
1 * Ripspeed Tax Disc Holder (£9.99 for replacement)
1 * Halfords Life Hammer & Torch (£14.99 for replacement)
So a grand total of less than £35 to replace them.... To be honest I think I was quite lucky.... Everything was still in the glove box and the cassett box was also untouched...
Luckily the only damage is a couple of small paint chips and a small (Thin) crease in the windscreen pillar (could have been worse, might have been looking for a window again... )
I've seen a couple of possibilities on the pager alarms (on the net) but really want one that will have microwave sensors rather than ultrasonic so that it still works if the wind blows the roof about a bit...
I'd still be interested in knowing what one you've gone for though John, incase it's different from what i've found so far.
Hopefully with mine, now they've done it (and found virtually nothing) they might leave it alone...
My new rear spoiler should be with me in a couple of weeks, Then I've got the fun of making it fit properly so that will give something to look forward to anyway.
At leased it wasn't my new one anyway, although that does have a Cat1 alarm fitted so they probably thought better of it...
Sorry to hear about your trouble Adam, it seems like people just can't leave the cars alone... luckily the paintwork has been left alone (for now) on mine.
Many thanks again
All for now
Adrian.

Click HERE for a Demo (http://www.wintec.com.tw/825flash/825.htm)
Or this one @ £175 also in the UK
This is the latest version of Magicar top of the range model.
It is so new that in performance magazine FAST CAR it has been reviewed as a new product in this month’s magazine with a rating of 9/10. It is sold and fitted from a company from £349 this does not include the engine start which is £100 extra and the key word is also “from £349”
This alarm has so many features too long to list but is original in its design. There have been a number of cheap import imitators like Wintech, Telxtron, Alphaguard. Etc. If you have a look at the quality there is no doubt this is the best alarm. Where have the other companies been featured??
This alarm contains
*The Ultimate Car Alarm* With Design Award from U.S.A. –
Two-Way Interactive Car COLOUR LCD Remote Engine Starter/Alarm & Programmable Engine Starter System.
Model CM302F which combines 4 features of vehicle security into 1 System: Immobiliser (start disable), Colour LCD FM 2-Way Remote,
Programmable Engine Starter & Car pager to Driver's Remote. -The system allows interactive communication with your armed vehicle in an audio and visual way.
-LCD Remote that provides graphic information on the status of the armed vehicle.
Other features: Auto door Lock/unlock as driver moves away or approaches the car, Dual-stage shock sensor (light/heavy) fully adjustable, Panic alarm, Auto re-arming, Car Finder, Anti jacking, Blue neon status LED which in the dark illuminates your whole interior Turbo mode, as you get out of car u can take your keys out the engine will stay on and once u close the door the doors will lock, the engine will shut off and even your windows will go up (additional accessories may be required)
Boot Release (module may be required), Electric window wind up (can be done by experience fitters),
Transmission 800-1000m remote range. – Auxiliary options: to activate radio/ Auto-windows or sunroof, Boot release, neon’s or anything that you want
But to be honest Both yours sound better, what sort of prices were they??

Adrian.

Sorry to hear about the Beat Ady, I think you are right to consider an update for the alarm as you know when we had the Beat it too got abused by jealous people. I once had my wheels stolen off of my BMW and that was outside the house nobody heard or saw anything. When I bought the RX7 I needed a CAT1 alarm for insurance and when this was fitted I had tilt sensor fitted along with a pager that sounds if the car is tampered with and it works. Even down too when some kids tryed swipeing the dust caps. Anyway keep smiling mate and I hope you gwt it sorted ok, cheers Leigh
