I got some stock 14x6 honda/acura rims (45 offset I believe)
I have no problems finding the 185/65/14 for the rears, and they should fit on the without issue, but the fronts are much harder.

My options are pretty much a 175 width, with 165 being very difficult to find (aside from being snow tires)
So would a 175/65/14 fit?
I know i'd likely have to run some spacers, but i'm hoping I won't need to do extended studs to make it work.

Being in Canada, tire sizes here are limited :awwww:

Yes, 175/65/14 will fit all arround -plus 5mm spacers on the front. I had those before on 14-6 rims with 35 offset. the space between the ft strut and the tire sidewall is just a sliver. I put masking tape on the nearest surface of the strut and would check occasionally for chafing - none reported.

Now, I have 185/60/15 mounted on 15-6 x 32mm offset with 5mm spacers. They ride fine - with complications. The fr tires clear the struts ok but would rub the wheelwell, so we did some reshaping to add clearance as thicker spacers would be undesireable. The rears do not have spacers. The fenders were rolled allowing the tire to raise inside without issue.

did you need extended studs with the spacers?
I got some 6.25mm spacers, but i'm hoping i won't need to replace the studs and that 175/65/14 will fit

6.25mm may be pushing the envelope. With the 5mm spacers, I have 6 threads engaged with the std studs.

my 14x6 rims are +45 offset though
so i'm not sure the 175/65/14 will clear the front, even with the spacer

just an update
I managed to squeeze in the front the 175/65/14 tires on what I found to be 14x5.5 rims
there's about ~4mm of clearance from the strut with the spacers :)

the rears fit the 185/65/14 perfectly

I have mounted TOYO tires with 195/45/15" in rear and 195/45/14" in front with no issues. The profile keeps the same rake and the 45 size retains the existing diameter of the originals. I retained the existing spacers and studs and it provides a Porsche type squat. Keep in mind that Toyo is the only manufacturer that we found with a 14" 45 profile and we tracked a set buried in a US warehouse. Volco tires in Richmond, BC charged me $140 per tire and I am pleased
