someone tried to get one into France once i think? there was one on sale in Italy a couple of years ago?
i think this was it....
http://www.u-ukhbc.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?t=2299,
as far as i know it will be a long & difficult process due to the Beat not having euro type approval, unless you plan not to register it on french plates?

Oh, Tado, i`m sorry to tell you that this is not right. I´m still a German:)
But it should be no prob to registrade a Beatie in France.
I`ve got absolutley no probs with registration in good old germany.
But if you want a copy of my car papers, please just tell me.

Guido from Germany:p

this is with a 'euro' spec vehicle. note the last paragraph.

from other things i've read it can depend how 'friendly' your local prefecture is, i would imagine the South would be less formal? due to more exotic machinery/ money etc.

i would guess at a lot more inspections, haggling over spec. with things not having 'e' marks

About 3 Beat in France. And all Yellow

One in Paris area, directly imported from Japan. The owner is a Honda motorcycle dealer, and he is still trying to homologate it.

The second one was Honda Biarritz owners car. Bought new with 600km on the clock. Never registered, was for sale on the forum august 2006

Third one is a well know journalist and designer car. Was given by Honda to cross USA when new, then sent to France. He never succeed registering it.

Close to France, there is a Beat for sale in Genova, well known on the forum:

As say Old'uns, Beat is not from an European type, but national, it as to go through an individual homologation in France; Hondzilla had the same problem in Nederland. It is also possible to pay specialist of homologation, but it could be pricey.

Beat is still a fantasm for many of them...especially. I'm ready to cross the channel and to offer a more than correct amount of money (especially considering the low prices and the pound), but I don't want a car staying in my drive...:(
