Cleaning out the camera, found this short video taken during the rough mock-up.
Since then, all the mounts are complete. The new struts are in - will set the ride height later. Stainless exhaust is complete. The external alternator and A/C pump (driven from the serpentine pulleys off the right side of the engine) are installed. Next, cables, plumbing and final electrical touches (speedo fix, engine compartment multiple LED lighting, relocate a std battery inside the engine compartment) before testing and tweaking the suspension rigging. Cool thing is that the Hayabusa and Quaife is lighter than the stock config. The graphite bumper, hood and side panels will shed a few more pounds.
Side Bar: I will be using the stock shift assy with the addition of 2 compression springs. Note that 2 cables feed output. 1 cable relays fore/aft travel and 1 cable relays lateral travel. The fore/aft cable has been connected to the 6 speed transmission lever. With the springs, the new neutral or default position is midway between the old 1st /2nd gear. To engage 1st, I lightly bump the 1 1/2 inch shorted stick fwd (about the distance you move the turn signal arm) and it springs back to the default position. To engage 2-6 gears, I lightly bump the stick aft. And at times with 3/4 or full throttle, by adding a "shift interupter" (a load cell in the linkage signals the ignition system to shut down for an adjustable split second), the clutch is not used.
The 2nd cable is connected to the Quaife. The fwd / reverse direction of the car is controlled in the Quaife. I mentioned the default position of the shift lever is midway between the stock 1-2 gear position. Well lateral, or side to side movement of the shift lever, pulls or pushes the 2nd cable. Left is fwd, right is reverse. Thus, if I pull the shift lever from default position - to the right, the Quaife changes to reverse. So, to engage reverse, I pull across to the right and lightly fwd (the stock 3rd gear position). The installed springs will not allow this to happen during normal fwd driving.
Now for the fun part: I have 6 speed fwd and 6 speeds aft.

everything is still rough. the dyno guy arrives Monday. note the gas tank strapped in place. can not be installed until the engine is removed for powdercoat. ride height not set. aft exhaust segment not installed. airbox not installed. instrument cluster bezel/brow not installed.

Yeah, that's a backyard bumper and bonnet. Never happy with the glass lip I installed on the OEM unit.

Totally boggle worthy - imho. It's great to see such attention to detail.
Is it intended as a track car or daily driver? We had endless trouble with bike engined road/track car due to the different handling characteristics between a car and a bike leading to oil starvation due to surge on corners. Took us five engines, and numerous baffled sumps to figure it out properly, dry sumping was the (expensive) answer.

Daily driver. Have consulted with several owner/drivers with bike powered cars. Oil starvation was not raised. Will monitor the issue. The engine only had 2500 miles when parted, so it should be fairly obvious to detect premature wear.
The mesh seen in the rear closeout will be the same as that installed in the front bumper/hood reveals - powercoated black.
It may appear that the airbox is rather tall, however, it is equal to the height of the soft top framework at the outboard ends. Thus, the existing tonneau will fit and sit flat and no longer flap in the breeze.

It may well not be an issue with more modern engines and only resulted when lateral cornering forces deprived the pump pick up of oil. It may also be something to do with our twisty roads in Scotland! :)

the dyno passed uneventful. Top readings of the mostly stock engine were 156hp and 112 torque #s. Not bad for a 1650" car. I'l post the results when I receive an electronic copy.
I have been focused on solving a problem causing another minor delay. We erred in our calculations re final drive ratio in the Quaife. We have a 3.767:1 and need a 2.25:1 ratio.
Top speed is 98 mph at 11000 rpm. It's "bury your but in the seat accelleration" especially with the 'quickshifter'. I beat a Hayabusa bike from a light. Amazing. Easy to understand though. His engine runs to 185mph and I have condenced the 185 to 94. Until the new gear arrives, definitely not a daily driver but one hell of a ride.

I havent been on here for a fair while but this was always something I wanted to do.
Once this is finished will you be making a kit available for others to carry out the same thing?
If so, do you have any idea of a price range?

the main points of the mod are fairly straightforward - it's the details that'll get you:
1. electrical: chassis harness downstream of the fwd fusebox remains unchanged. all beat engine bundles running fwd are removed. the busa harness is modified per readily available online schematics. using the busa instrument cluster, allows for direct link with the busa engine and fuel signals. only the turn signals and highbeam leads are taken from the chassis. the beat fuel tank sensor and pump feed the busa fuel gauge and engine without recalibration or starvation. the beat aft fusebox now feed the busa ecu instead of the beat ecu. although the busa stator is wired in parallel with the ext alternator, a simple quick disconnect assy removes the signal during normal use. the assy can be joined without tools incase of an emergency (broken belt or). the ext alternator feeds the fusebox and ecu. the temp sensor leads to the electric fan switch. the quaife has an internal reverse gear switch for the rear lights.
2. clutch: the busa hydraulic sys is routed to the beat sys
3. AC; aftermarket compressor uses existing wiring without issue
4. engine subframe: simple efficient design
5. shifting sys: new cable from the shifter to the busa trany and new cable from the shifter to the quaife
6. throttle: same beat cable
7. speedo: 'speedo-healer' installed to adjust reading
8. cv axles: reversed rh and lh positions. fab'd inbd shaft receptables for mounting on the quaife. purchased an extra set of rear wheel hubs to accept std locally obtainable shafts. will disassembly the drive sys next winter and examine wear points to see if the mod is recommended.
9. suspension: swap coils and struts
a kit? no I don't think so.
after collecting dust for the last month awaiting the painter, really bummed.
