View Full Version : Additional speakers and sub
So I thought that a few more speakers, along with a new head unit and a sub might help the weak stock 40 watt unit.
I found a few surplus speakers and covers that
i had, and trial fitted them
Make a template with the speakers you got and trace it out to an aluminum sheet, (or wood, sheet metal etc.)
Then fabed up the "cabinet"
Wire it up, spray glue and vinyl, with an automotive plug disconnect and drop it in to place.
Soon to be fastened down. Then I added some dash tweeters for brilliance and some two-way 6.5 inch door speakers.
Then to finish with a thump, at least when at a meet or on cruse night, this 200 watt, 12 inch shallow driver fabbed into the spare. Two amps, one for the rear deck speakers, and one for the spare sub are in the trunk, next to the battery. The head unit is next, a JVC mp3 unit with aux and usb in. Just gotta wait for the weather to thaw before doing the dash work. B.

Never been a fan of subs under the bonnet, but the ones on top of the engine cover are very nice. Good work (and that's from someone who used to build sound off cars ;) )

Clean work BigB.
email me (previous address) with your address and I'll send the tonneau
Finally finished the fiberglass work for the dash and the single DIN.:)
sub+rear deck amps with cooling fans :)
pounds like "your son-in-law's civic with a fart-can".... lol....normally I don't crank it up because with the sub its just as loud standing 6 feet from the car, as sitting in it. An added engine cooling fan to help out...some lexan... and spun a new oil cover. I could use suggestions for a fan thermostat?
