I've just re-built my engine and now the rev counter is affecting my speedo, so i took it back out but i carnt find anything wrong with it. The speedo just keeps jumping about like a cheap french car!!! Anyone got any idears?

Sounds like a bent or damaged cable, that would cause the needle to jump and flick about, but I'm not sure if the Beat has a cable driven speedo.

Beat speedo is electric sensor on gearbox.
Could you have disturbed connector on gearbox or damaged wiring in that area.
Also possible engine earth could cause problems like this.
