I've removed ALL the carpet from the car and had it all steam cleaned and ready to go back in. It looks near new now!

I'm just not to sure what to put back in underneath the carpet. On the drivers and passengers side, where you put your feet, http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn123/cornflakejoe/P3017401.jpg was this stuff that looked like packing blanket material (like this... http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn123/cornflakejoe/P3017400.jpg

I'm not to sure what packing blanket is made out of, but I'm thinking its there to absorb water and such, but not mold. Anyone know what sort of material was under there OEM? Perhaps I should just put some rubber of something, or would the packing blanket be a good idea?

Thanks,

beardo

How about using some Dynomat if you can get hold of it.

Hey, good idea! I think there is one audio store in town that carries that stuff!

If you go to the scrapy and find a new smashed up car buy the sheet of sound proofing from underneath the carpet in the boot. Its just sound proofing, bmw's have good one's in them but any car will do, its all the same stuff!!!
