This is a picture of the OLD (dirty on the left) vs the NEW (in plastic on right)
The new one is smaller than the old one, and i'm not to sure if it is correct. The old filter is still from the car when it came from Japan, so I'm not sure why they are not the same. The new one I ordered from the honda dealer. The threads look the same, I'm just concerned about the size.

Will the new one be ok?

Thanks,

The old one you have removed is a non genuine Honda filter.

The new one you have is the correct part.

Isn't that the old part number for the Honda filter?
I run the Honda 15400-PLM-A02 filter in mine.
I was told it is the new replacement for 15400-PFB-014 but they're probably the same.

A few cross references for North America:

15400-PLM-A01 ( Filtech made) Honda
15400-PLM-A02 ( Fram made) Honda

Good question. I installed the 15400-PFB-014 a few nights ago, and was not very happy with it. When I screwed it on, it felt like there was only about 1-2 complete turns I could give the filter in order to tighten it. The old filter (and what I usually expect) is about 5-6 complete turns.

Thanks for the North America parts reference. I'm going to go and purchase another filter off your list today and see how it compare to my Honda filter. How did you find those cross references anyway?

I've heard the beat (E07A) motor runs the same filter as a older Honda Insight. Can anyone verify if this is correct?

Thanks!

How many cranks did the A02 give you? It's my understanding the PCX one is the more direct match.

Hoping to change mine tomorrow, was going to go with PCX if I can find one, otherwise the common A02 I'll try.

I'm going to start compiling a Canadian specific cross reference list and start posting it here or on my page...

I need rear-pads as well and I'm going to try CRX ones, read somewhere they match ... but I digress

Checking on the european Honda EPC system.

Original part number is 15400-RTA-004

which superceeds to 15400-RTA-003 on the parts system.

Honda europe have 16,000 of these in stock, so its not Beat specific.

Also with the varlious part numbers about, fitment is not exclusive to beat, and is probably on reliant local stock.

Ps. I have not tried this part number filter so can not comment on size/fitment.

Just another quick note. you cant get a 15400-PLM-A02 in europe, it will superceed to the 15400-RTA-003.

Honda Insight (2000-2005MY) uses the 15400-RTA-003 also.

Re: rear brakes pads. Yes CRX/Civic pads are same shape, you may have to adjust the wear indicators to aid fitment, dependant on if using genuine or aftermarket pads.

Good to know. This is the same filter that I used on my honda Acty what has the E07A as well, and it works just fine.

just been checking , All petrol engined oil filters are interchangeable other than the NSX and s2000 however you can use the s2000 on other engines, just cant use others on the s2000. It will provide a bump in oil pressure like using a Hamp filter.hth
cheers

Sorry, but I can't see this. The filter for my Beat is tiny compared to the filter on my Civic

Is its diameter where it meets the engine the same ? if so the then its only its capacity that different , which you get from brand to brand anyway .

Very interesting! :)

I wonder how the s2000 filter increases oil pressure? Is that a bad thing?

You could probably achieve the same thing using different viscosity oil. It was kind of interesting owning Miatas that had the old accurate mechanical oil pressure guages.

It was amazng how much difference you would see just changing to fresh oil.
