Tyre size advice please :)

hi all
i've just aquired some new wheels for my car and the sizes are f= 14 5.5j and r = 14 6j. the offset is f= 35, r =40

i have to admit, tyre and wheel stuff baffles me a bit.
can anyone suggest some tyre sizes to keep things sensible? my main concern is rubbing on the rear, but the car will be having wider rear arches fitted soon.

Did you get the ones from the auction Mike? If so I thought I read the 'recommended size' on the listing somewhere?

there was a question from a bidder about the rear where the seller mentioned using 165 - im just wondered if anyone had used or currently has anything else on rear with a 6j wheel?
