View Full Version : How much is a complete working engine worth?

Curious as to what people thought a fully working engine that's done 85,000k with a re-bored block to 0.5mm oversized pistons and rings would be worth?

Would have all the receipts for every genuine Honda part it's ever had

well if someone paid £158 + p&p for radio that may not work, a complete car is generally £3-3.5k at moment, i suppose if i really wanted an engine..up to £1k?
difficult to say, but bearing in mind they're prob as rare as hens teeth.
stab in the dark....you've modded your Beat so far from original the next step is.. Hayabusa, ZZR et al:)

oh golly. what are you up to now?? heheheh.. :D:D
i think the going rate on japhoo is about 800 for a re-con maybe with a few tweaks done to it (i looked into it a while ago!). of course you've then got to get it over here so probably more like 1500 at least? realistically if you're paying a garage for a rebuild it would be about 1k or so anyways?

The wheels aren't in motion yet so to speak, it's just something I'd like to do once I've completed my mechanics course at college.

Hopefully something around the 200bhp mark from the Honda family.

i know kenzo at hyline has 1 full beat (in need of some tlc) and a rolling shell to practice on - he wanted 1500 for the pair i think... :p

Em if your thinking of something bike related make sure you got someone who is good at welding and a cheap place for metal both very handy if you make the rear end spaceframed.

But if you know it is not that hard to do, mine would be running along time ago if I had not kept upgrading parts at the same time!

It's easier to tinker when it's already in bits lol

It's not a bike engine but will need a sub frame anyway.

It's only an idea though still at the moment. Gotta complete my college course first

ah well I like the way you think!!! It is great more people are thinking outside the box
