Finally found the speed sensor on the gearbox, but noticed there is a pipe that wants to go in the direction of that sensor but I can't find anywhere for it to go.

I took some pictures of it, in the center of the picture you'll see the black speed sensor plug (unplugged) and next to it is a rubber pipe that wants to go there too.

Please can someone tell me where it's supose to go because I can't find it :suicide:

Just a novice on the Beat, but I'll offer this guess:

If the rubber line is a vacuum line, is it possible that the speed sensor is feed by vacuum and the missing switch/sensor is a vacuum switch?

That's the line of thought I was heading down, but the plug that goes in there is just an electrical one. I can't find anywhere to put this hose in the immediate area at all.

Which got me wondering whether it's meant to be there at all, might have got twisted or squished in the rebuild, which is why I thought i'd ask.

Looks like the gearbox breather pipe comes off the black metal plate on the top of the gearbox and just goes down the side of the gearbox.

I will try to find you a picture of its loaction.

Thank you for the help :)

Just a breather then? looks like we did damage the sensor when we did the rebuild. D'oh :suicide:

New sensor for me.
