Cleaning the fuel filter

I'm going to cleaning out the fuel filter but wanted to ask you guys for any pre-cautionary measures or any help would be great.:)

The best course of action is to replace it, not clean it!!!

Hey Steve i'm pretty sure it's a canister type filter so i should be able to clean it but will look again to make sure. :)

Yeh it's having a bit of work done at it at the moment so i'm using my other standard one.
