I'm having problems registering my Beat. I've all the relevant paperwork V55/5 , mot, insurance, customs clearance and the export cert. Now this is where the problem arises, the export cert only details the year of manufacture - 1996 but not the month. DVLA will only accept month and year as a minimum.
Now I've tried all the usual stuff, the export company, my local dealer but neither say they can help. :suicide:

Cheers Tado,

Think I'll try another Honda Dealer, failing that a call to Honda UK.

Hi Mylee,
I work for Honda in Swindon, I can via Japanese collegues in Suzuka obtain certain information regarding build dates etc. You will have to send me the VIN number to check. If you want to do this send me an e-mail.

TBH mate, I need written confirmation of the manufacturing date, but I must confess I didn't look at the seat belts last night :o

The export certs do not often state month of first registration on kei cars. You need to flag this up with the DVLA.

You should have no problems with the registration.

I have registered 4 Beats from import and agree with the above you must educate the DVLA and inform that Kei cars show no month of registration and the DVLA just a ssume a Jan 1996 and give you a 'P' plate I tihink!!!

Best of Luck
