Removable Steering Wheel

Does anybody have experience with a removable steering wheel assy? Is it a real theft deterent or a hassle?

The one thing that put me off, was having to carry the steering wheel around with you all the time

I have a removable steering wheel on my Elise. Main for the security aspec as it was parked out side and you would struggle to drive a car with no steering wheel.

It also aids getting in and out, as it gives just that bit more room for you legs as you get in.

Most removable steering wheel bosses have a lock to lock it on, so you can pinch the wheel if left on, other wise If i remove, I will sometimes put in the boot so out of site.
