Ok everyone,

After six months of trial and error I have finally produced a a good quality spoiler. I have included a photo of the first one off the production line that I had lightly sanded then painted in Festival Red. They will cost $400 Australian each plus postage and handling. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards

Jason :)

Looking good Jason,

Any chance of a simlar pic showing the top of the boot lid and spoiler,

It would be nice to see what it looks like from another angle.

Jez,

The spoiler is made of fibreglass. After exploring the option of making it myself ie reading various material I decided that I would leave it to the experts. After ringing around I managed to find someone that was willing to do a small production run. I was intially told that this would be a simple affair and that I would have a replica within a fortnight. Six weeks later he presented me with one, which looked ok at first but on taking it to a spray painter I was told that it was rubbish. It was heavy, warped and the joins were uneven. I began looking again and found an ex Tafe teacher who specialised in fibreglass reproduction. Four months later I got my replica but this time it was light, wasn't warped and with an even join. I had this lightly sanded, painted and put it on my car.

A few thing I learnt along the way are...

1/ Don't attempt to do this yourself unless you have years of experience. Because the spoiler is so small the heat generated when joining the upper and lower sections invariably warps the spoiler.

2/The design must be 10% different to the original in order not to breach copyright. If you notice with mine I have removed the opening for the brake light as these are no longer available.

I realise that this may not be the answer you were looking for but trust me it is difficult...

If you are interested in one drop us a line

Jason :)
