engine light

I just put a new timing belt and water pump in my '91 BEAT. Now the engine light comes on after a few minutes of driving. Otherwise it is running nicely.
Anyone have a clue? I am perplexed.

Best thing I can suggest is doing the Fault code check as mentioned a few posts down from this one.

Once you have the code, we should be able to help.

P.S. I'm guessing that it's the timing out a little bit causing Code 9 to come up... (unless the wiring for the sensor got damaged when the belt was changed.)

Turned out to be O2 sensor. All good.:)
