Sorry to be blonde, but I don't get it!

I can see they are funnels for the air intake, but I don't get how they work!

Do they improve top speed? Or acceleration? If so how?

by channelling the air flow, thus speeding it up is as close as you can get to the effect a turbo has. Turbo force feed air boosting the air fuel compression ratio, these naturally increase the speed of flow by directing them through the funnels, it gives you about another horse and a bit in most lower gears. I found with my last Beat a little more take up around the 3-4000rpms, the performance maps are there to look at too. Ask around also as I think quite a few have them installed, Paul, Adrian etc.. I thought they were good value for the money which is why I will get a new set for this Beat.

Like I said if you want a set just the 50GBP is enough to the above PayPal address, what is that in euro?? but I suppose yen would be 10,000 if we work on 200 as an exchange??!

I'll wait a few more days to ake sure there are no others, so when your ready..

I'm with you there. It must be a Blonde thing! :D

I'd like a set too Oz. The biggest ones. Who says size doesn't matter?;) It looks easy enough to do. Famous last words! More power sounds good.

I've seen a few sets on Jp Yahoo at reasonable prices lately, and am wondering if any current members can update the experience with them? Worth the trouble? The dyno records posted on this thread aren't all that impressive.

I have had the funnels installed for a month now and can't really notice much of a difference with regular driving.

They were very easy to fit, all you have to do is take the air box off and place the funnels into the intake manifold.

To be honest anything other than forced induction will provide little to no noticeable performance gains.

I have 55mm funnels and think that they make a small improvement in mid rev power. That said I have have an after market exhaust and a K&N air filter so the airflow is not being as restricted as it was when I purchased the car ;)

Even a small gain on a Beat is worth it in my opinion.

I have the 70mm funnels, but it was put in with the engine rebuild so I can't say if it makes a difference.
I would say that it couldn't hurt though, and it perhaps makes the ITB's sound better
