Sounds a little serious!! I would tend to point at the ECU first, check that the condensers are OK etc.. standard procedure. Do an ECU reset sequence and see if it persists. Lets know how that goes first, I think a few have had the same problem and it mostly turned out to be ECU related.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Just as a thought, the timing is set correctly isn't it...

And are there any fault codes showing when you do the diagnostics??? (Do a quick search on here for the location of the diag plug in the engine bay...)

Ady.

i gotta same problem too. the light of my beat will turn on when the engine is over 6000rpm or under 3000 rpm on high gear. my mechanic said gotta clean the sensors first, and if the light is still on, it is the problem of the fuel pump. hope it may help!

One of our Beats recently seized its distributor. When we collected it after repair the light was on. We were subsequently told they had left a wire loose. Suggest you check for loose or dirty connections.

finally i've found the reason behind. it is the air flow sensor which is located within the exhaust system. i have to replace part of the exhaust system and it is rusty too.
