Hi folks

I've got my Beat! I bought it on Monday, and drove it 150 miles home. What a fabulous car. Having seen a few at Gaydon and had a good look round, i somehow thought it might be a bit insubstantial and even flimsy, but it feels so well engineered and solid. And, as most people on here know, it's an absolute riot to drive. Thanks to everyone who volunteered any info along the way. Here's hoping for an enjoyable ownership experience, cos it's pretty good so far.

Your luggage rack looks different! any close-ups on that ? :)

I presume the skirts are genuine. They have Mugen logos on them, but could be copies i suppose. I just hope they're not hiding any rust-related nasties. As for the rack, it doesn't seem to have a manufacturers name on, and it came with the car. It attaches to the sides of the boot lid with two pairs of metal strips with bolts between them, to pull it tight. I seem to recall a discussion going on about a similar rack for the Cappucino. I'll see if its previous owners know where it came from.
