Hi, I have a 'rear brake sticking' problem again. Horrible squeaking noise when slowing down or driving slowly, eg. in traffic. Had this a while ago and had it fixed by my local garage but now it's back again - I guess Beat's are prone to it - anyone got any tips for a more permanent fix? - John

John - could be handbrake cam sticking - try 'massaging' it with WD40 or similar. (Ozsamurai posted a thread somewhere, I think).
Good Luck

Could be a corroded cylinder, i had 4 on my old beat, all rotten at the bottom!

Worth a look if nothing else works

Yup - I had that too - re-sleeving the slave cylinder is a good solution if you can't get a new cylinder easily and if you can find a brake specialist to do the job. Cost me less than £30 last year in Oz for one cylinder incl. seals when I let them have the cylinder stripped from the car.
