Hi I'm thinking of purchasing my own car.

Up till now I've just been a named driver on my mum's classic Mini.

What are the things to look out for when buying a Beat?

Is the insurance expensive, I'm 21m and have held a clean licence since the age of 17, if that helps?

If anything goes wrong is it expensive to put right, as I'm a student and so limited budgetwise.

Is it better to purchase in the UK or import from Japan, as I haven't seen many for sale here?

Also what's the latest reg Beat you can buy?

Many thanks,

Mabs:)

Hi.

Yes, insurance can be pricey, as there are limited companies that will insure a Beat. Im with Adrian Flux insurance, others are with Privilage.

look at http://www.u-ukhbc.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=135

bit more info.

Parts can be quite pricey as well.

Most Beats in UK are H and J reg, they do stretch to K and L but thats only a few, some of those are due to the hassle/red tape of importing.

Beats for sale in the UK. have a look in the FOR SALE section. I know for a fact that Rosalyn Cobleys car is still for sale, there are others about in Auto trader etc.
