Anybody got any ideas who does good insurance on the beat?norwich union and tesco are quoting me as it bieng in the same grouping as a 2.0ltr toyota mr2 which I think is bloody stupid!!!!

Tesco, adrian flux, firebond, AA, privilege all insure the beat...

Cheers Paul tried all but firebond and all quoting me like its a foermula 1 car, all got it same grouping as 2.0 mr2, also it is cheaper (by half) to insure my mk1 mr2 supercharger and that runs 0 to 60 in 6.4 secs!!!!, may give up on this and sell it, cannot understand a 660cc car in group 16/17!!!!

Hi there,

Have You tried Lifesure ? They got back to me quick (was asking for quote on internet) and even with all my "problems" (foreigner with EU licence, no NCB, 27yr old, street parking, cat 1 alarm, etc.) they gave me a quote for £440 which isn't that bad. Second best was Tesco's with £560 and then there were some others.... worse was £2800 !!!! lol

Try Privilege.co.uk We are in our 2nd year with them, £220 for myself 36 and missus 29, garaged with 5 years NCD.

We had to phone up the first year to get the cars details on their system, website could trace the registration.

One thing to note though, when it comes to the renewal, cancel the policy and apply for a new one through their website, and you get and extra 10 percent off the premium. Explain that!!!(yes I know cheaper to attract new business through the website, but on a repeat policy?)

insurance quotes i was getting were all £400-£2000, to high for my liking

This is a classic vehicle insurer so im not certain if your NCD will count and you have to send pics of Beat along with some paper work.Worth the agro for the savings made. Happy hunting.
