Ive been offerd a beat with a shot engine
could anyone tell me how much you should pay for an engine
or how much to rebuild the one i have and where to get it done

Well unless your planning to do it yourself, I wouldn't start.

Depending of course whats wrong with it. I'm just about to rebuild my engine and its going to cost quite a bit. If you add in rings, gaskets, seals, water pump, timing belt, skimmed head etc. and labour. I honestly can't see it being worth while. A perfect beat sold there for 2000 pounds recently so I can't imagine what you would pay for one. The only reason I'm doing it is cause I know my car know and I know what needs to be done.

I dont know whats wrong with the engine but i think its serious
new pistons and the like
I was only going to pay £500 for the car
but i was told getting parts was murder
I was hoping to buy a recon for £500
or get some one to rebuild mine for the same price
