Jason is taking the plunge with a Project A chip, so an order will be going in this week or so, if anyone has the bug to get one now is the chance, the chip is 13000 and the postage would be about 2000 to the UK, cheaper if you share this of course. Offer will close soon as not to keep Jason waiting. So heads up! paypal address is ozsamurai@hotmail.com.

The end of the month is only 10 days or so away so that's not a problem, as the chips will take a week or so to make after order anyway, if you want in on the purchase. let me know pls.

Hi Oz
Yes I'll be having one of those please!

whats the final cost in YEN or are you waiting for more orders to be confirmed?

Shane

ozsamurai
21-04-2005, 01:31 AM
The final cost would be 15,750 yen, because PPal take 5% for their troubles, so this would mean I would receive the 15,000.

Jason X1
Adam X1
Jurek X 1
WhiteLeopard X1 ??
Sharpen X1

Anymore for anymore??

I think if I twist his arm I might be able to get him to throw in some ECU spacers as well, we'll see!

If you could all make the transfer to the PPal account I will put the order through as soon as all the dosh arrives.

PayPal address is ozsamurai@hotmail.com

Please make sure you put a delivery address in there for me too, unless you want them bulk shipped to one location.

Paul W has the installation instructions still I think, and probably would be able to do the 'operation' if you asked him nicely, or bribed him with alcohol.

Am i right in believing this roughly translates to about £70?? Will we have to pay any VAT on top of these prices?

But oz put me down for one anyway :)

ozsamurai
21-04-2005, 10:00 PM
So far sending parts to the UK has only has only had VAT added once, when I stupidly wrote the value on the shipping label (sorry Steve!), since then the value is listed as 0, used parts, and they are tiny so I don't think the PO would catch on... When I get them I always re package them in a tupperware for the haul so I think that is safe enough, no problems!

So I will go ahead and order one for you, a chipped and dangerous Leopard, hmmm.... from my reckoning of the exchange rate it would be about 75GBP as over here its running at 202 to the yen, but again please send yen, I have no use of pounds.

Hey Oz,

Is that 15,000 yen then or do we need to add the paypal fees too. I just don't want to leave you short.

ozsamurai
22-04-2005, 06:05 AM
yeah I think in the top of the post I calculated it was 15750 after PayPal takes its bite.

The chips have arrived today

1) I am still missing one payment not WhiteLeopard's. So anyone need a chip?

Jason X1
Jurek X1
White X1
Adam X1
Sharpen X1

2) White I need your address to send the chip to, ozsamurai@hotmail.com
3) He included the ECU spacers for free, yay!:bounce:
** What are they??
- As you may or may not know, the ECU is strapped to the firewall, and in the summer it gets pretty hot up in there, causes ENG check light to come on etc. There are two thing you should do to combat this, one it poke ventillation holes in the main relay cover (not the main relay though). and the other is put an insulation sheet (steal some from your roof) between the firewall and the ECU, these Stainless spacers give you that space to slide the sheet in, and even if you don't put the sheet in they give much needed ventilation, some 30deg reduction on the heat to the ECU, which over time is a life saver for your capacitors...so there you go...

Hi WL,

Its behind the carpet behind the passenger seat!, lots of trim to take off to get at it

HTH

ozsamurai
05-05-2005, 10:49 PM
White, rock the passengers seat forward, if you have a document box there, then you have to remove the lower 2 screws and the back runner board to get at two more on its top all together 4, remove one more clip/screwfrom the the side molding (where the seat belt goes into) then pull the molding off its just held in place by clips. Peel back the carpet and there is the ECU. Three bolts will have it it your hands, then remove the connectors.. I hope that's clear enough

the 7000 rpm limit?

Oz, got an extra one??

Jason

Hey Gang,

Mine is in. Still runs out of puff at 7000rpm. This may be due to my ECU showing a fault code 0.

Have got to get together with Steve M at some stage to start swapping parts over with his old engine to see what helps (If anything)

As for CO...

Mine passed it's MOT last wed (Nothing needed doing again) :bounce:

CO was 0.03%
HC was 196ppm

The perfomance of my car has greatly improved. I'm glad I bought a chip...

I haven't noticed a 'drop off' at 7,000 though, mine still pushes all the way up to the redline.

Btw you all say that the chip removes a rev limiter... I never had a rev limiter to begin with?

Paul w
09-05-2005, 11:36 AM
I think the limit is normally about 8500 rpm.... mine now goes through 10k! (only by accident!)

Thats the same as mine, I redline it a few times by mistake at Santa Pod (d'oh) before it was chipped, i definatley did not have a rev limiter... I know this because my tail pipe fell off when I missed 5th gear once and redline it all the way to 10,000rpm d'oh

john m
10-05-2005, 08:53 AM
The rev limit only works when revs go up, on change down through the gears it is possible to over rev the engine. This is when most engine blow ups occur.

Adam
10-05-2005, 11:28 AM
John,

Thats what I tought when I first heard about the chip but I've tried to take it pass the 10,000 rpm mark without luck. I think the rev delimiting only happens at 140kmph and that definatly has been taken off.

Really thou the car feels totaly different now.

My engine revs up to 7000 rpm and then starts dropping.
It is like it is loosing cylinders. Engine is freshly rebuilt.
The ECU has a "Feels" module attached to it that
apparently removes the speed limiter. The car will get
up to 70mph.
Several other members have had similar problems with
a 7000 rpm limit.
