I'm going to SantaPod on sunday to get an offical 1/4mile time for my standard beat, before I start modifying it!

Give me something to compare to.

Wondered if anyone else fancied coming along? A few of us 'boy racer's' are going from cruisemidlands.com so it could be interesting...

Don't think i'm going to take on my friend's scooby doo though hee hee or the cosworth tuned to over 300bhp

If anyone does fancy coming, can meet you there you can come with us in our little convoy from Chorley services M6 south @ 8:30 am

Wonder what time i'll get

hee hee, thanks

I already had a go at an unoffical 1/4mile and kept up with a 1.4 saxo, and a 1.6 cavilier so it'll be nice to get something offical...

Hopefully I won't kill my beat doing it, otherwise i'll be onto the phone to the nice AA man, then the warrenty man... "racing? drag strip? don't know what you mean!"

Dont forget to drop the hood as it will reduce drag .

Any excuse to get the top off hey jurek? hee hee

Yea, and i've had to borrow a helmet to do it too, stupid rules

I would have thought dropping the top increases drag.....maybe 2 runs are in order!

I believe it's unlimted runs, so i'll try to get in as many as possible with hood up and down!

I was not allowed to run with the roof down, as the rules required me to wear a helmet and arm straps with the roof down!!!! But it was ok if i had to roof up

Strange

Anyway

I had no problems at all with my little beat, ran like a dream all day, kept an eye on oli just in case. Hit the redline a few too many times for my liking, but no harm seems to have come of it... i hope.

I even beat a lamborghini! hee hee... I think it lost all drive and had to coast to the end, but I beat it on the first 10 feet before it lost power! hee hee

My slowest time was 20.445 seconds.. thanks to a slippy surface which saw me redline trying to find grip!!!

Quickest time sheet was:

Reaction Time - 0.772
60 Ft - 2.577
330 Ft - 7.617
1/8 mile - 11.839
1/8 mph - 58.06
1000' - 15.435
1/4 mile - 18.684
1/4 mph - 71.53

That was best run out of 6

My other times were...
~17.747 (we don't think this was my car as it says my MPH at the end was 90.37 and my car's still restricted, so we think this is very wrong)
~18.787
~19.051
~20.300
~20.445

Well impressed whiteleopard!

Picture looks great, 17.74 seems really really good, I found a clip of a cappo -v- beat 1/4 mile

It might be of some interest, the beat dose it in 18.77 and cappo dose it in 17.40

Heres the link, its the last clip at the bottom.
