Apparantly the CDC 634 has been officially discontinued.

The beat uses the 'C-Bus' system for autochangers, but with a 10 cd you would only be able to access the first 6 disks. Also, I tried a MD changer that was C-bus but couldnt get it to work.....
You can often get the clarions on ebay though....

I've got a Clarion DC628 fitted in mine...
Works really well, doesn't skip or pause even on the roughest roads...

Yes, the CDC634 CD changers do read CDR disc, and I would think that its replacement CDC635 and DC628 do as well.

I've got a CDC 634 fitted, it does read CDr's but only if you've copied the CD not if you've recorded Mpegs. I've got a spare 634 with a cable if you're interested.
If you need to play Mpegs there is a converter available from Clarion (occasionally E-bay) to convert from CBus to CeNet, you will then need to but a CeNet disc charger which can read Mpeg discs. The Beat radio should support this because I can play Mpegs from my Mpeg player via a cassette adapter.

so you are saying that even if I have Mp3's that I have converted to WAV and burnt to cd (in the same format say a cd that has been bought is ) hte cd changer won't play it? why is that?

No not quite what I'm saying.
If you've burnt the CD and laid the tracks down as Mp3's it won't play, I don't know about WAV or WMA format but I doub't it. If you have converted the files back to CD Audio Format (ie as if you had copied them from a CD) then yes they will work.

Get hold of a copy of Nero 6, its pretty spot on for burning from MP3 straight to CD audio, no messing about with WAVs etc...
